About Mountjoy Sparkling

Mountjoy Sparkling began the way many grand adventures do: in a garage, with a couple of overly enthusiastic friends who clearly had too much time on their hands. One had just read a terrifying article about the evils of sugary sodas, while the other harbored an almost obsessive love for bubbles. Not the fancy champagne bubbles, mind you, but the kind that make your plain old water dance with joy.

Picture this scene: two adults, feverishly shaking ice-cold bottles of water, trying to coax in the maximum number of bubbles with nothing more than sheer muscle and a fair amount of delusion. It wasn’t glamorous. It certainly wasn’t cost-effective. But it was the spark that ignited the fizzy flame of Mountjoy Sparkling.

Our motivation was straightforward: we wanted a better drink. Alcohol was off the table. In fact, getting alcohol off the table was the point. We were like modern-day alchemists, convinced that with enough perseverance (and a couple of blistered hands), we could turn ordinary water into something extraordinary. We were on a mission to create something healthy, something that could actually make a difference in people’s lives, just as it had in ours.

Over the years, we’ve enjoyed the highs of being at the forefront of a national trend and suffered the lows of being tossed about like a buoy in a stormy sea. One minute we were celebrated as visionary trailblazers; the next, we were looking at each other, asking What just happened? But through it all we’ve remained true to our cause: Feed Healthy Habits.
